The family

We live on a small island called Løkta on the coast of Norway. We went to Lyon this summer and hope to go to France in 2010. We are open for 2011. If you look at a map you will find our island just south of the Arctic Circle. The nature here is lovely, and there are also plenty of possibilities for visiting the other islands, which surrounds us. You can use our boat both for fishing and sightseeing. The island has about 140 inhabitants, and they are all friendly. If you want to go to the mainland, the ferry takes you to Sandnessjøen where you can do some shopping. This trip takes about one hour, and the ferry goes between three and five times a day. The ferry takes 100 cars and stops on Dønna too. It has a small restaurant on board.

We have a farm, which is about one km away from us. We have no animals there now. Our neighbours use the land for grass. If you want to visit the farm on your stay at us you are welcome. Anne’s parents live there. If you are interested in more information, we will be happy to send it to you. We also have lots of pictures.

We like: Swimming,walking in the nature, fishing, shopping, playing soccer, reading, athletics and a lot more. We also like relaxing together!

This winter we had two new fosterchildren, a girl 8 and a boy 11. They loved the stay in Lyon and dream of more bathing and new experiences other places.

Silje, 14, has started on her 9th year at school here. She is happy for having new pupils at school. A family from Germany with 6 children has lived here since April, and that means new friends for her!

Marius, 19, our fosterboy for more than 8 years, has got a job in Mo i Rana. But after so many years we still think of him as "our boy". If you want to read more just click at the pictures.

Pia, 24, is a teacher and works on a small island Rødøy just north of the Arctic Circle. She loves going with us and we hope she will be able to go to France next summer.

Ina, 26, has started working as a doctor in Mosjøen. She and her boyfriend Rune went with us to Lyon, and they want to join us later too if possible.

In the years to come we hope to travel with Odd Arne`s sister and her family. That means that we are looking for places that can take at least 8 persons.
